I initially entered the field of graphic design through web design as a wee 12-year old, building geocities websites for bands I loved and to share my angst-ridden poetry with the world. At the age of 15, I branched out into print design while working for my highschool's literary magazine. I taught myself how to work with programs such as Quark and Photoshop.
These days I'm still designing websites for bands that I love, but my designs are reaching a thousand visitors a week. I'm still designing magazine layouts, but the magazine I work for reaches 45,000 people a month.
In addition to working in magazine and web design, I have also diversified to design projects including advertisements, illustrations and logos, among others. I continue to push myself to learn more about production and pre-press, typography, techniques and design history. I work to keep up-to-date with technology developments in my field. If you would like more information on my work history, education and qualifications, please e-mail me and I will send you my resume in PDF format.
Aside from my experience as a graphic designer, I have substantial experience in other mediums of communication. I have worked as a news reporter, television production assistant, online editor and music reviewer. I am also a music lover, and play the oboe, guitar, piano and numerous other instruments, to varying degrees of success. I love animals and volunteer at the Humane Society, where I daydream of starting a cat army and outfitting them in uniforms. Perhaps with lasers attached to their heads.
I hope you enjoy my portfolio. Please contact me with any inquiries.
